How we research

Quiet by default. Public when it matters.

We don't publish what we're exploring while we're exploring it. When a study needs voices from the community, we post a public notice below. That's the only place you'll see what we're looking for.

Every study begins with the people doing the work. We interview, observe, and listen before we form an opinion about what should change.

Build small, test in the real world

When an idea survives the field, we build the smallest thing that can be tried in real conditions, and let the results decide what happens next.

Not every improvement is software. Sometimes the right outcome is a better process, and we're just as happy to ship that.

Restaurant servers: help us understand the work.

Nobody knows a dining room like the people who work it. We are interviewing 10 restaurant servers across Puerto Rico to understand the landscape of restaurant service work — what a shift actually looks like, where the time goes, and where the friction is. This is research, not recruiting and not sales. Interviews are one-on-one remote conversations, confidential, in English or Spanish — whichever you prefer.

Estamos entrevistando a 10 meseros y meseras de restaurantes en Puerto Rico para entender, de primera mano, cómo es el día a día de su trabajo. Es una sola conversación remota y confidencial de unos 30 minutos, en el idioma de su preferencia. Como agradecimiento por participar, recibirá una tarjeta de regalo Visa de $50. Debe ser mayor de 18 años y trabajar actualmente como mesero o mesera en Puerto Rico.
